The debut album from Division Day, "Beartrap Island", is a true amalgamation of many different sounds, from driving post-punk (Dismemberment Plan, Maritime) to upbeat pop (Yo La Tengo) to gently sweeping melodic numbers (Beach Boys). This album was originally self-released in 2006, but I didn't get it until it's recent re-release (Oct. 2) on Eenie Meenie Records. As much music as I listen to, there is always something I inevitably miss. But now you have no excuse, because this album comes recommended and there's even a couple of MP3s below for you to download. Get to it!!

Great Northern have crafted some damn fine pop songs on their new album (also out on Eenie Meenie Records), "Trading Twilight For Daylight", which kept me glued from the first song to the last. At times, reminding me of Stars (which is definitely not a bad thing) with duel girl/guy vocals and lush melodies that go from hazy & drifting to upbeat & driving. All in all and pretty good album overall. Also recommended. Deja vu! There are MP3s below for you to check out below as well!
