Man, I prefer house shows to venues any day. There's a pretty awesome one on Saturday (2/09) for those of you in the Atlanta area: Nat Baldwin (Dirty Projectors), The Brock Scott Quartet, Andre' Paraguassu, PowWows, and Leah Meininger are playing in Grant Park for a mere $3 (sugg. donation)!. For those of you not familiar with some or any of the artists playing, you can check out the couple of MP3s as well as Myspace links below. Both Nat Baldwin & The Brock Scott Quartet get a thumbs up from me, and I'm eager to check out the others...this should be a blast!

I'm back!
So, the video shoot went well. With as many things that could have gone wrong, it turned out to be a smooth and enjoyable couple of days. The video is for The Brock Scott Quartet (you can check out a previous post here) song "Poseidon", and I should be done with it by the end of November. I will, of course, post the video as soon as it is done. In the meantime, check out the track in question.

GREAT NEW LOCAL MUSIC: The Brock Scott Quartet
A friend of mine, Jer, turned me on to this amazing local band a few weeks ago. So it's high time they get a post!! Their music is in the same acoustic/folk/jazz/rock vein as the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Sam Prekop, Calexico & The Clientele. The delicateness of the vocals, to the soaring & intricate musicianship makes a long drive easier, your hand start air drumming, and cures depression. Alright, I'm not sure about the "curing depression" part, but maybe they should try it...you never know. They're currently not signed to any label, and judging by this album that won't last long. I see great things on the horizon for Brock Scott and his quartet.
You can purchase the album for download here.
Otherwise, if you want a hard copy of the CD you can get one of those bad boys by sending 10 bucks (preferably a check) plus shipping to:
