So I've been a little sick this week, and what has been makin' me feel better? Rest? Hot miso soup? New Les Savy Fav album? Yes, yes, yes. Their new album "Let's Stay Friends" came out on Tuesday, and it is more than just a good cold remedy. It's another fantastic LSF record. I wish I could go into more detail about their growth as musicians, Tim's amazing lyrics, the album's intoxicating energy & feeling...but in my weakened condition I just can't go on any further. You'll just have to satisfy yourself with the two MP3s & video below.

Atlas Sound "Knife" (Grizzly Bear cover)
I mentioned Grizzly Bear's upcoming "Friend" EP a couple of posts ago, now it has a track listing (see below) and a release date, Nov. 6. P'fork has been kind enough to stream the Atlas Sound (Bradford from Deerhunter, solo project) cover of "Knife" from the EP, which is a really, really great cover for so many reasons. Check it out below as well.
"Friend" tracklist:
01 Alligator (Choir Version) [ft. Zach Condon and Dirty Projectors]
02 He Hit Me (And It Felt Like a Kiss)
03 Little Brother (Electric)
04 Shift (Alternate Version)
05 Plans (Terrible vs. Nonhorse: Sounds Edit)
06 Granny Diner
07 CSS: "Knife"
08 Band of Horses: "Plans"
09 Atlas Sound: "Knife"

It's getting colder....
I had to put on a sweatshirt for the first time this Saturday night, I guess that means Fall is here. It also means shorter days, in terms of actual daylight NOT actual shorter days...which would be nice. Unfortunately tonight is going to be a long one, 'cuz I am busy, busy, busy. But I thought I would at least leave you with a couple of "Fall" related tunes.
